How do I add stock to a location?

Written by Alex CY WongLast updated 5 October 2026

There are two ways, depending on whether the product is already held at that location.

#Stock it at a new location

Use this the first time a product is kept somewhere. You need the Manage products permission.

  1. Open the product.

  2. Set Group by to Location and click Add location.

  3. Choose the Location. Only locations where the product isn't held yet are listed.

  4. Enter the Quantity to add. Leave it blank if the product holds nothing there yet.

  5. Optionally, set Warn below under Low-stock alert. See "How do I get a warning when stock is running low?"

  6. Click Add location.

#Receive stock where it's already held

Use this when a delivery arrives. You need the Receive stock permission.

  1. Open the product and click Move on the location's row.

  2. Choose Receive.

  3. Enter the quantity, and pick the unit if the product has a larger one, such as boxes.

  4. Add a note if it helps, for example the delivery note number.

  5. Check the figures, then confirm.

On hand and Available both go up by the amount you received.
