How do I edit or archive a product?

#Editing a product

1. Open the product and click Edit product.

2. Change what you need, such as the name, description, family code or units.

3. Click Save changes.

Two products can't share a name, so a rename to a name that's already used is refused. Once stock has moved, the product's base unit can't be changed.

To add a variant or a location, use Add variant or Add location on the product page.

#Archiving a product

1. Open the product and click Edit product.

2. Click Archive.

3. Click Archive product to confirm.

Archiving hides the product from Inventory, reports and exports, along with any stock it still holds. Its stock history is kept. An archived product keeps its name and code, so a new product can't use them.
