Why didn't some of my items migrate?

When the migration finishes, the Migration complete dialog lists any items it couldn't migrate, with a link to each one. Fix them, then click Re-run, or Migrate on the banner above the Inventory catalogue. Items that have already migrated are skipped.
Only items that use the old Inventory section on the item profile are part of the migration. An item with no quantity there, or one whose amount is kept in its custom information instead, isn't migrated and doesn't appear in the results.
#What each item needs
Items with the same name are combined into one product, with a variant for each item, named after its serial. So an item can only migrate when:
It has a location, and that location isn't archived.
It has a serial. The serial names the item's variant and becomes its code (SKU).
Its serial is different from the serials of the other items with the same name.
No other product or variant already uses its serial as a code, archived ones included.
It uses the same unit as the other items with the same name, for example all BOX. If a product with that name already exists, it has to use that product's unit too.
No archived product has its name. Archived products keep their names, so rename the item instead.
#The reasons in the dialog
Reason shown | What to check |
|---|---|
No location | Give the item a location that isn't archived. |
A product with this name already exists | Rename the item if an archived product has its name. If the product is active, check that the item's unit matches the product's unit. |
A product with this SKU already exists | The item's serial is already a product or variant code. Change the item's serial. |
Could not be migrated | Check the list above, in particular a missing or repeated serial, or a unit that's different from the other items with the same name. If everything looks right, contact support and tell us which items failed. |
